The first step towards shapelier brows is to schedule a consultation. During your consultation, your Aesthetician will discuss with you what you like and dislike about your eyebrows, as well as the shape that your desire. Individuals can choose from an array of pigments to match their hair color and skin tone.
Before the microblading process begins, the new border and shape of your eyebrows will be drawn on. During the microblading treatment, a lidocaine cream will be used to numb the treatment area, and a hand tool comprised of microneedles will place pigment under the skin. Hair-like strokes will be drawn onto the brows, following the natural brow line. The pigment will be given time to settle into the skin before being wiped away. It can take about two hours to complete the microblading process. The pigment is not implanted as deeply as a traditional tattoo, so results are not permanent. It is important to remember that your new brows will appear darker at first, but will fade by about 30 to 40 percent.
After treatment, patients can return to normal daily activity but should protect their brows from moisture. This includes avoiding washing your face with water, getting your face wet in the shower, and sweating from a workout. Some patients might experience itching and mild redness during the first week following their appointment, but this can be controlled with ointment provided by your Aesthetician.
Patients will require a touch-up within six weeks of your appointment to refine results. Most patients enjoy results for 12-18 months, though the length of results will depend on many factors, including skin type, age, immune system, and medications.
